Moving time

Nobody enjoys moving or packing up there stuff to leave behind everything they know. Not a single person. I may even say I enjoyed seeing what kind of stuff I have that I don’t actually need. The kind of things we buy just to clutter our room. Sorting through that kind of stuff taught me that I liked buying books that I never finished which I have now made it my prerogative to complete every book I buy even if its an school book.

So why the move and where did I move to? I am currently resided in Vancouver, Washington. One hell of a move. Packed my stuff in the East Coast to end up on the West Coast. Best of both worlds. The reason for the move is because my boyfriend got a better job out here then back in the East. Moving meant for me becoming jobless. Yes. I took a risk and what better risk than one that completely distorts what my ordinary life use to be.

“I’m done with those; regrets are an excuse for people who have failed.”
Ned Vizzini, It’s Kind of a Funny Story

A challenge I am willing to take. Goodbye Cyber Quest Arcade and hello job hunting. Its been a long time since I had to job hunt for real again. Do I even remember how? Joking. I left my family back in Connecticut not because I don’t love them but because I do love them. I love them enough that I need to experience new places, and a deeper form of love. This is the first man I have moved in with, and the first man I can honestly trust to have my back.

Yes I am scared for the future but I am also hopeful for it as well. But being two weeks without a job is still a little unsettling. I’m constantly at war with my need to do something, and the desire to be lazy because I can. To be honest, I’ve applied to a ton of places in the last two days on indeed.com for the area. Will my resume hold up?

Some lessons are meant to be adventured for

Just as the clock will continue to tick even after we die I will continue to go forward with adventures. During the past week I have learned a bit about the area that most people wouldn’t notice. Its the reason I enjoy walking so much, and the reason I desire to learn more about the world.

A few fun facts about Vancouver, Washington that I am not sure people know or not. Marijuana is legal so most people are chill compared to the East where people tend to be angrier about life in general. Past this there is a lot more to the area than what meets the eye for this suburban born girl.

One is that I am not use to people being too nice. There is such a thing and here you will find it. Back home people are often using back water Sarcasm to get a point across. Up here they use kindness like a weapon. I can attest I like the kindness point better.

Anyways, Two; East coasters may like Starbucks but I have learned of coffee heaven and it is not Starbucks. Its a place called black rock coffee which is a chain up here. I legit want a job here just to learn why the coffee is so good plus I bet it is fun to work there. It looks kind of like this;

“The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.”
Arthur C. Clarke

Number three; It rains a lot but when I landed it was snowing. The snow literally chased me to my new home. Another wee little fact is that today is my Birthday. Happy Twenty Fifth to me.

Dinner options are endless here and the problem I have is that I never really think about what I eat. I just eat.

Those East Coast ideals

I have only ever lived on the East Coat. Actually, I never moved out of Connecticut even though I spent several months between Ontario, Canada, and Detroit, Michigan. But none the less, I have that stone cold East coast spirit. You know what I am talking about. The stubbornness, and desire to swear every other word.

One East Coast ideal is that when things get rough you get rougher. You tighten up your sleeves and you come back hitting hard. Most are persuaded by the hunt for more and not the desire to relax with what they have. My accent doesn’t seem noticeable up here yet. But I am sure it will come out at some point as it did at work.

Being a native means yes I pride myself on surviving rough winters but I also respect that I never had to witness a Tornado close at hand. The ups and downs of everywhere means I am understanding culture. People on the East Coast are impatient and it might just because of how time tends to go by wicked fast compared to the West Coast. This may also be the reason most people out there are constantly running on Dunkin.

“Do what is right, not what is easy nor what is popular.”
Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

If you were curious why I was absent from writing it was because I was busy adjusting to losing three hours of time. Going back to the past. Joking. Joking. Anyways, if any of you are from the Vancouver area hit me up. I’m looking for friends to teach me the area. Much thanks. If there is anything I need to know feel free to add to this.
