Hello Joshua,
I do believe that Nomura helped with the creation of final fantasy 14 as well. This game’s storyline is fantastic but I know he was dragged away from it for a bit to work on Kingdom Hearts 3. I think the reason he can no longer feel emotionally attached to Sora is that he wasn’t sure why the character was the main focus of the game. Of course, everyone loves Sora but I think what he wanted to show a new perspective for the series. But developers would not have it. So, what we ended up with was a more tragic game that disappointed players.
I’ve always been more of a final fantasy girl myself, and have stuck to the franchise like glue. ( I bought ff 10–10 2 for three different consoles in the last three years.) Anyways, final fantasy 13 also had a peculiar and upsetting ending as well. Although, I enjoyed playing through one and two a lot.
However, I have never gotten around to playing Kingdom Hearts 3 in its entirety because the traveling system is so damn hard to figure out.
Great post. Thank you for this information.
